So I've been doing video for quite a while and I was curious if there are any video playback software alternatives that I am not thinking of. Pretty much the industry standard, I like its simplicity and reliability, but they have major problems keeping the software up to date with Apple OS releases and it's a little light on feature-set nowadays. They had mentioned a 64-bit version several years ago and now its nowhere to be found. More feature rich than Playback Pro, but since it comes from a house of worship background it isn't the most professional looking, and I personally find its interface to be a little convoluted. It also feels and seems less reliable than Playback Pro (find myself restarting it more than I want to because it starts to bug out at a certain point). I love this software for what it can and should be. Its interface is more streamlined than Pro Presenters', it's very powerful with its multi-screen capability. My problem with it is that it always feels buggy and unreliable to me, and when I've used it I've had not one but two backup systems in place because I really don't trust it. The best balance between professionalism and feature-set that I've found. The problem that I have with it is that it's a little inflexible and quick to setup in last minute situations. I've also done performance tests on the same machine, using the same media, across the above mentioned software, and Qlab was the quickest to drop frames, etc. So I was curious if there's any other software out there that is both reliable and feature-rich for use in a live production environment. I've tried programming this in timeline and dashboard and can't seem to get a good smooth playback.I would love something that has the multi-screen capabilities of Pro Video Player, but was a lot more reliable and robust. As in, pause two layers and play the other one. I've found that playback drops to 6-8fps when playing 3 layers together and key framing speed. I'll probably be removing most once we're set. I have a lot of media in the library as we're creating the show. Next layers (approx 4) playing back 3200x1200 videos rendered ProRes4444 with alpha or ProRes422 without The layers have masks on to cover appropriate sections of this spikey canvas screen. Top layer black PNG masked to fit the edges of this spiked screen I've got. Warping and masks can be now appied directly on your canvas, so you do not need multiple canvases any more. Millumin is a revolutionary software to create audiovisual shows. For theater, dance, video mapping and interactive installation. heres what I do: - I draw a simple mask with Illustrator (16 lines total) - I save as SVG (svg 1.0) - I create a new layer. Layer stack is something like this always: Millumin is a revolutionary software to create audiovisual shows. Hi everyone, Im trying to import SVG file masks, is it possible right what Im doing is not working. Weirdly the Lightware switch I'm going through is setup with a 50Hz EDID but mac won't let me choose anything but 60Hz and the projectors are getting 59.59Hz. I've got two 4:3 projectors hooked up, canvas is 3200 x 1200. I'm having a little trouble with videos not playing back well on this high powered machine I've hired! Alpha-channels - share rendered 3D content and video with masks and keys, allowing compositing to happen easily and naturally.
